It works almost instantly. Makes cleaning silver so easy. Do have a window open when you use it, as the odor is quite strong.

I love the silver dip! And really glad i ordered the gallon size. I used it on a huge punch bowl, 12 cups and ladle that were very tarnished! It did a great job on those items as well as the other items i needed to polish. Nothing that I purchased in my grocery store came close to doing the job Goddard did.
